After a wet and stormy start to August, the rest of August has been hot and dry. Rainfall amounts range from 1 to 2 inches below normal for the month. The lack of rain and temperatures into the 90’s will continue to increase drought conditions across the area. The latest US Drought monitor has placed portions of the tri-state in the Abnormally Dry category. We could see Moderate Drought conditions by next week. Burn Bans have been issued for the following area: in Indiana: Gibson, Posey, Vanderburgh, and Warrick. In Kentucky: Union County.
